About Us

"Our Staff remain committed to our ethos of care, which is to care for a Resident as we would wish our own relative to be cared for."

The sense of warmth and friendliness which greets the visitors to the Nursing Home certainly shows how the ethos is still alive and well today. Some recent accolades sent to St. Theresa’s include: “Heartfelt thanks for all your kindness and splendid care'' ; ''You are all so wonderful at your jobs''; ''We are all blessed to have such a special place in Thurles.”.

St. Theresa’s offers a friendly approach to caring with each individual needs being at the centre of the facility.

The home is a hub of activity and allows residents to pursue their own favourite pastimes. Activities are central, so whether it’s trips to the local Source Centre, cinema, or a drink in the local pub, everything can be arranged. Daily activities include amongst other things exercise classes, arts and crafts, sing along afternoons and reminiscence therapy.

St. Theresa’s is an advocate of personal freedom. We have an open door policy and encourage residents to go out for the day or overnight stays with their family or friends. Residents are encouraged to interact with their families as much as possible and the staff will help in the planning of day trips or weekends away. We welcome family input into the individual care of a relative.

Religious ceremonies also form an integral part of life at St. Theresa’s. Of course the proximity to the town centre offers the chance for residents to attend religious services of their choice.
